Positive 2SLGBTQIA+ Stories are Vital, by OK2BME Team

It is vital 2SLGBTQIA+ youth have positive representation in the books available at our schools and libraries. Trans kids exist and deserve to be seen, heard and loved. Not only is inclusion, support, and belonging a nice thing – it is crucial. Community and school support is essential for mental health and suicide prevention. It makes a world of difference.

To those who are hearing and reading debates about whether stories of your existence should be included, let us be clear; you belong, you are welcome, you are loved, you are needed. We see you.

OK2BME is here for you through youth groups, counselling, and public education
