Health Update March 16, 2020, By OK2BME Staff

To the OK2BME community,

KW Counselling Services is committed to delivering accessible and quality service, while ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our clients, staff, students, and volunteers. We are operating under the guidelines laid out by Public Health and will make changes to our operations as the situation evolves. Please check kwcounselling.com for the latest updates or call us at 519.884.0000.

All of our group programming and events are cancelled until May 4, 2020. This includes all OK2BME Youth Groups.

We encourage social distancing. All scheduled counselling sessions will continue as scheduled, subject to staff availability. If you prefer to cancel your appointment, please call us at 519.884.0000. In some cases, it may be possible to keep your appointment by phone or online. If these options are of interest to you, please speak directly with your counsellor to see if they are available and appropriate.

You will not be charged for missed or cancelled appointments.

If you are ill, have flu-like symptoms or have been exposed to the COVID-19 virus, please call 519.884.0000 to reschedule.

As a precaution, all clients and visitors to our office are asked to self-screen for flu-like symptoms upon entering our shared space.

  • Do you have a cough?
  • Are you having difficulty breathing?
  • Do you have a fever?

If you answered YES to any of these questions, DO NOT ENTER. Please return home and call us at 519.884.0000 to reschedule your appointment. If you answered NO to all these questions, ENTER and use the supplied hand sanitizer at the reception counter. Please note: you may be asked to reschedule and leave by our staff as they follow policies that are in line with public health directives.

We have taken the following steps to help curb the spread of illness:

  • Pens at reception are single use and will be sanitized between uses
  • All-gender washrooms are stocked with soap and hand-washing instructions
  • Common surfaces in our Waiting Room are regularly disinfected with products recommended by Public Health
  • Alcohol-based hand sanitizer is available in the Waiting Room

We encourage everyone to follow the guidance of the Region of Waterloo Public Health for everyday preventive actions to help prevent the spread of viruses.

Visit www.regionofwaterloo.ca for the most up to date COVID-19 news and recommendations.

If you are in crisis, please call 911, or call Here 24/7 at 1.844.437.3247.

Thank you for helping us to keep our community well.
