Rainbow Refugees and the Legal Process, by Scott Williams
Members of our staff are working with the Solidarity Alliance, a group “…committed to increasing accessibility to services for LGBTQ newcomers in Canada that are driven by service users as well as inter-agency collaboration/competency. The Solidarity Alliance is committed to working from an Anti-Racism/Anti-Oppressive (ARAO) perspective that will incorporate the complex intersectional needs of LGBTQ newcomers.”
The Solidarity Alliance has organized a free, two-hour training that is an introduction to refugee claims based on sexual orientation and gender identity. The goal of the training is to provide an overview discussion on the claims process for LGBTQ refugees lead by speaker El-Farouk Khaki.
