Virtual Pride with OK2BME, By Washington Silk

We have three online events happening in June 2020. Join us for Virtual Pride!

June 15th 12-1pm – $25

Lunch and Learn on Creating Queer-Inclusive Workplaces

Register Here

Did you know that in Waterloo Region only 54% lesbian, gay, bisexual and queer staff are out to co-workers and only 27% of transgender staff are out to their co-workers? Research suggests that when people are concealing their sexual identity it reduces workplace efficiency by up to 30%! In our lunch and learn, OK2BME will cover basic terms, common issues and best practices for being an ally and advocate in the workplace. All questions welcome!

June 19th 9-10:30am – $45

Key Clinical Practices for Supporting Transgender Individuals

Register Here

This workshop will be most beneficial to mental health professionals, such as social workers, therapists, counsellors, and support workers. Participants in this training will gain an understanding of Affirmative Therapy, which will provide information about how to support transgender clients in an affirming and inclusive way through the application of therapeutic frameworks that are trauma informed and can be easily applied in combination with any therapeutic approach.

June 25th 4-5pm – FREE
